Karen O

Karen Lee Orzolek (aka Karen O) is best known as the vibrant lead singer of Brooklyn rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs. For the 2009 film Where the Wild Things Are, directed by former boyfriend Spike Jonze, she (sort of) branched off from the trio to compose the soundtrack. The Kids are made up of a who's who of indie rockers, including her Y.Y.Y.s bandmates Nick Zinner and Brian Chase, Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, Liars' Aaron Hemphill, the Bird and the Bee's Greg Kurstin, and the Raconteurs' Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence. The music is silly and fun, yet beautifully arranged, a fitting complement to the big-screen adaptation of the whimsical children's book. Single "All Is Love" went on to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture.
