The beloved children's book was put into the hands of director Spike Jonze, who then put the soundtrack into the hands of his former sweetheart, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O. She in turn recruited her bandmates, Deerhunter's Bradford Cox and members of Raconteurs, Liars, the Bird and the Bee and more as "The Kids." But it's Karen O who's the youngster here, yelping, babbling, humming and even harmonizing with a kiddie choir. The Kids, on the other hand, make the story's imagination come to life -- their instrumentation, alternately carefree and intense, gives the soundtrack its magic touch.
