Released:
Label: Oreade Music
German New Age artist Bruno Reuter took an Indian word for "compassion" as his name (Karunesh) after a 1979 trip to India. This first record of his material followed in 1984. Featuring the lyrical, slightly danceable instrumental music with which Karunesh has been associated throughout his long career, Sounds of the Heart offers a middle ground between the far-out electronic music of Jean-Michel Jarre and the cinematic melodrama of David Arkenstone. Karunesh routinely employs organic Indian instruments alongside a largely synthesized base.
