Identical twins Kate and Kacey Coppola grew up in Colorado, where the tunes of crooners such as Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra regularly provided the dinnertime background music for their big Italian family. The two girls attended USC on music scholarships and played around in Los Angeles, but they knew they'd have to move to Nashville if they wanted to pursue a career in country music. The duo's big break came when they competed on CMT's Can You Duet. They had a bit of a rocky ride on the show, and after receiving harsh criticism from judge Naomi Judd, the girls were inspired to write the bitter retort, "You're Not My Judge." They soon were signed by Big Machine and released the song shortly thereafter. Their next single, "Dreaming Love," was released in April 2009.
