Here lie gently remade tracks (mostly vox and drums) from two mid-period Bush albums: 1989's The Sensual World and 1993's The Red Shoes. Sensual's title track has been retitled "Flower of the Mountain" and liberally quotes Ulysses; the computer in "Deeper Understanding" is voiced by her son; "This Woman's Work" is now an eerie, mournful ambient wash. Less gloss and bombast is the rule, though Bush can still snarl "Don't want your bullsh*t/ Just want your sexuality" with singular brio. The whole thing is odd, indulgent, unexpected, poignantly bewildering. We'd have it no other way.
