Another recruit in the dance-pop cyborg army amassed in 2010, Kelis, who has some experience in the otherworldly weirdo department, has a few ideas to add to the collective consciousness. Nothing else is quite so breathtaking as the gorgeous, haunting "Acapella," though she does hit her stride after that, particularly on robot-diva anthem "Scream." Kelis really commits to the dance-pop concept, crafting a continuous play vibe that her strange, scratchy voice adds layers to. Whether or not the minimalist, clubby style does anything for that distinctive voice, however, remains to be seen.
