Released:
Label: MUSIC WORLD MUSIC/COLUMBIA
Three years (and one scrapped effort) in the making, the second album from Destiny's former progeny finds her continuing to inch ever so slightly away from Beyonce-dom. The release includes several diva-on-the-dancefloor tracks, all of which (especially "Work") are sassy but classy, and pretty hot, though Rowland still relies too heavily on the Knowles philosophy of singing -- flat, overproduced, generic. She takes more vocal risks on the ballads and mid-tempo numbers, flexing her cords a bit on cuts like "Ghetto" and the lovely acoustic closing track "This Is Love."
