We're going to ignore the more ominous reasons an artist might have for re-releasing an album almost a year after it first came out. We're going to ignore them because, first of all, Diva Deluxe isn't a re-release so much as a digital addendum to 2007's Ms. Kelly. More importantly, there's some meaty stuff here. Steer clear of the two remixes (particularly the unfortunately butchered version of "Like This") and head straight for the five new tracks, a collection of rather stripped-down ballads and midtempo jams that show off Ms. Kelly's pipes and just might (finally) earn her that diva title.
