Biography

Best known for his association with Eric Dolphy (who played on McIntyre's standout 1960 LP Looking Ahead, this overlooked multi-reedist offers a unique extension on Charlie Parker. His boundary-stretching but still melodic style is enhanced by an appealingly round, slightly slurred tone. He's written some fine, catchy tunes as well.
