Kevin Johansen

This Argentinean singer-songwriter was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and raised in Argentina, but -- musically speaking -- Johansen came of age in New York City, playing CBGBs and the Knitting Factory on a regular basis throughout the 1990s. His debut album The Nada evolved from those gigs, where he hammered out his bilingual singing style and his eclectic sampling of milonga, son cubano and cumbia.
