This release compiles early Kid Rock cuts, initially unheard because of legal issues the Detroit rapper faced a few years before Devil Without A Cause made him a trailer home name. Rock didn't intend for the album to be a follow-up to Devil, instead he used his fame as an opportunity to revamp old tapes with money he didn't have before and also to expose his 10 jillion new fans to the material he recorded in obscurity. The hit "American Bad Ass" gets away with lifting Metallica's "Sad But True" in its entirety, but most of these cuts are more rap than rock.
