Biography

Compton emcee King Tee first turned heads with his 1988 debut Act A Fool. Backed by funky production from DJ Pooh, his clever rhymes clowned weak rappers while stressing his own microphone prowess. Unlike the violent verses from L.A.'s gangsta rappers of the era, Tee came armed with a deadly sense of humor, ready to unleash it on anyone who tried to front. He dropped three more albums in the first half of the nineties, introducing California party squad Tha Alkaholiks in 1993 on Tha Triflin' Album. In 1998 King Tee released Ruff Rhymes, a collection of his greatest hits. He also teamed up with Dr. Dre and recorded Thy Kingdom Come. Rumored to be an exceptional comeback album, it remains shrouded in mystery, keeping his legions of fans anticipating its release.
