About Kingfish

Originally conceived as a side project for Bob Weir, Kingfish specialize in reworking oldie rock 'n' roll tunes and country standards. The indelible mark of the Dead is all over the stuff, with sub-down-tempo versions of once-lively Chuck Berry numbers and Weir's unmistakeable head-waggling vocal delivery. These live recordings provide some excitement with a deep-in-the-pocket rhythm section, meaty harmonicas and some un-Dead guitar shredding.
