Live & Let Die (Explicit)

Live & Let Die by Kool G Rap & DJ Polo
Released: Nov 1992
Label: Traffic Entertainment/Cold Chillin'
By 1992, Kool G Rap emerged as an influence on an East Coast scene transitioning to street rap. His rap style was highly literate yet punchy and aggressive, and he explored it fully on his final album with collaborator DJ Polo. He paints a vivid fantasy of ripping off the Mafia on "On the Run," and languishing in jail on "Edge of Sanity." His "Operation CB" (as in c*ck block) is hilarious, and "F*ck U Man" is an extra-raunchy sequel to his infamous "Talk Like Sex." Live & Let Die was mostly ignored at the time due to label problems, but it's an underrated gem that's worth a listen.
