With 2009's Blaqkout collaboration with DJ Quik, mainstream critics finally noticed that Kurupt is a remarkably consistent artist. Streetlights, produced by West Coast vet Terrace Martin, continues the hot streak. There's "I'm Drunk," a ribald throwback to his Dogg Pound days; the rumor-smashing battle rap "Questions"; and a reunion with Snoop and Quik on "Bounce, Rock, Skate." Kurupt doesn't offer anything new on Streetlights, but he delivers the flamboyant gangsta sound his fans know and love. "I don't need white folks," he brags on "Yessir." "I get ghetto Grammys."
