The mark of a good album is how it sounds a decade after its release; in the case of the Argentinean rock group La Portuaria, 1995's Huija holds up, to put it mildly. Diego Frenkel's understated rapping fits alongside likeminded artists like Beck and Tjinder Singh of Cornershop, while the group's Argentinean heritage widens their artistic net to include everything from mambo and vallenato to classic rock and funk. "Ruta" was the first single, but songs like "Super Mambo" and "Sophia" deserve just as much of your attention. A critical hit, the album was the last they'd release (besides a live album) before dissolving a year later.
