They hail from Venezuela, but you'd be forgiven for swearing on your LCD Soundsystem farewell tour tickets that La Vida Boheme is from NYC (or even the U.K.). These hipsters rock the dance-punk like their lives depend on it -- and while that's a bit extreme, there's a political ring to their cowbells, an anarchist spirit in their elegantly wasted vocals. After all, this is a band whose fans call themselves La Resistance and demand a space for youth and rock. Little details (some disheveled brass here, plaintive cantatour there) both back up the activist angle and make for a hell of a party.
