Las Rubias Del Norte

This New York-based group evokes a kinder, gentler era of Mexican music, when boleros and cha-cha-chas dominated, and narco-corridos were just a glint in Chalino Sanchez's eye. Led by two classically trained North American singers, the group brings a Sally Timms-esque detachment to classic tracks like "Piel Canela" and "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas," and even throw in a little Mozart and cowboy songs for good measure.
