Newcomer Lenka holds her own among today's various and sundry pop ingenues, throwing down the whimsy and oh-so-off-beat charm like an old pro on her debut. But don't think that means Lenka is all circus-y glockenspiels, multi-tracked vocals like so many purring kittens and puppy dog tails or something. Oh, who are we kidding -- that's exactly what it is, from the coffee-shop-meets-big-top vibe of lead single "The Show" (which is just begging for its own Mac commercial) to "We Will Not Grow Old," which is sort of like a revision of Pat Benatar's "Love Is a Battlefield" for the soy latte set.
