Vinnegar's "walking bass" style was a big part of the 1950s cool and hard bop West Coast scene. On his first session as a leader, Vinnegar keeps the pulse steady behind Gerald Wilson (trumpet), Victor Feldman (vibes and arrangements) and Teddy Edwards (tenor sax). Carl Perkins and Tony Bazley round out the rhythm section on a theme set built around "walking."
