On his seventh full-length comedy release, Black masterfully strings along the audience with dour storytelling, provoking authentic laughs about every 30 seconds or so. Much less political than his earlier work, his latest routine finds Black waxing nostalgic on how sane life was growing up when compared to today. Topics include Christianity's treatment of Christmas, gambling addiction ("You know, I don't really give a sh*t if my kid goes to college"), and the difficulty of losing one's virginity while fumbling with vinyl records. Listeners might easily forgo audible laughter and instead experience tears and arrested breathing. Give it a listen.
