Label: Yep Roc Records
Liam Finn is the son of Neil Finn (Split Enz, Crowded House, solo stardom everywhere but the States). Liam shares his dad's power-pop positives -- the bittersweet Lennon/McCartney melodies and soaring harmonies, the creative arrangements and a knack for making the personal sound universal. "Lead Balloon" is a fierce psych-rocker, while the gentler "Remember When" and "This Place Is Killing Me" should be heard by fans of Elliot Smith, Josh Rouse and (sorry, Liam) Neil Finn. The talented blighter also self-recorded this, over-dubbing most of the instruments himself.
