From dance-punks to doomy goths to witch-obsessed rockers to, now, enigimatic electro wizards, Liars are arguably one of the most interesting indie bands of the early 21st century. Radiohead may be the most apt comparison -- particularly on WIXIW, which may have been made on the same otherworld as Kid A (see "His and Mine Sensations"), or maybe The Matrix's city of Zion ("Brats"). Angus Andrew's wobbly monotone fits the eerie ambiance, as lush layers of glitchy and droning electronics are propelled by Krautrock rhythms that drive through a weird, wild and fascinating highway to hell.
