From spacey Folk to guitar-pop, to Ambient, and to breathy Drum 'n' Bass, Lida Husik has remained a consistently creative and evolving artist. Her recordings in the early '90s saw her focusing on a stripped down version of Psychedelic Folk-Pop which involved lush, although basic, instrumentation (performed by her), surrounding her airy vocals. After a brief jaunt with the respected Shimmy Disc label, she continued recording, gradually adding bits of electronics to her repertoire. Gradually, the electronics began to take center stage as her songs began to become full throttle Drum 'n' Bass and minimal Techno workouts. The major difference between Husik and the current wave of pixie-voiced electronic acts is a large one: songs. Lida Husik's past as a songwriter has enabled her to put some structure behind her experiments, making them worthy of multiple listens.
