Banal, big and catchy, "Lip Gloss" has all the trapping of a classic summer hit. The spare beat, with its syncopated handclaps, sounds like it was thrown together in two seconds, and Lil' Mama's rap is similarly off the cuff. She lures the boys with that poppin' cherry vanilla lip gloss and even draws the admiration of school administrators, who ask her where they can purchase their own stick. Sure, haters will role their eyes, but their jealousy is ugly and their lip gloss is cheap.
