The Norwegian nu-disco duo Lindstrom and Christabelle first floated a stealth-mode single, "Let's Practise," under the alias Lindstrom & Solale; all limbered up, they tackle the full-length format with the oddly titled Real Life Is No Cool. These Italo revivalists couldn't sound more au courant as they finesse gleaming synthesizers and chugging drum programming into slo-mo, left-field electro-pop jams that just won't quit. Lindstrom's production strikes the perfect balance between dirty funk and pristine electronics, and Christabelle's low-key diva delivery never wears out its welcome.
