A Thousand Suns: Puerta De Alcalá (EP)

A Thousand Suns: Puerta De Alcalá by Linkin Park
Released: Jan 2011
Label: Warner Bros.
Though the name of this live EP is a variation on 2010's A Thousand Suns, it contains tracks going all the way back to the band's 2000 debut, Hybrid Theory. This approach makes for an interesting listen, considering just how radically Linkin Park has evolved, from a funky alternative-metal act ("In the End") to a modern-rock group sounding more or less like Coldplay on PEDs ("New Divide"). The fidelity is aces, of course. Plus, Linkin Park sounds truly energized, as they perform in Spain in front of a sea of hardcore fans wailing and crying for their heroes.
