Ronnie McCoury grabbed Del's band in 2007 and cranked out this high-octane album, which leaves the twinkling keyboards and over-extended tween voices of much children's music in the dust. Only "This Old Man" feels like it could have appeared on any children's album: everything else gives little listeners a front-row seat to a super-charged bluegrass extravaganza. The fiddle saws through "Working On The Railroad" like it was coal-fueled, while that banjo deserves a front porch so it can be picked in the style to which it is accustomed. A joy for kids and adults alike.
