Among the architects of rock and roll, Little Richard seems to get the least respect. He's best known for "Tutti Frutti" and that's about it, as if he were a one trick pony. But you can hear echoes of James Brown in "Rip It Up," heavy metal in "Keep A-Knockin'" (well, almost) and the primal energy that informed Iggy in Richard's over the top shrieks and howls.
