It's hard to believe possible, but Los Lonely Boys have made a stunningly great Christmas album. It's such a pleasure to listen to that -- minus a few standards even the Boys can't fully disguise with their roots genius -- you often forget it's a holiday album. Their "Carol of the Bells" is flat-out stunning, moving through that instrumental classic with propulsive grace; tender renderings of "Away in a Manger" and "Silent Night" will creep into your dreams. Album after album, Los Lonely Boys have been proving their musical mettle; what they do with a handful of holiday songs cements it.
