Like most artists who sing corridos, Los Tucanes could claim they were simply singing what was already in the news. And the news, when this album released in 2008, was increasingly following the drug violence. Los Tucanes have been singing narcocorridos for years, but this album marks a growing tendency to alternate an album of light romantic songs with much grittier corridos. Case in point: "Producto Garantizado" details how this "guaranteed product" is a "delicacy for the gringos."
