Even over seven CDs, Pavarotti's tenure with EMI represents only a slice of his body of recorded work -- relationships with the London and Decca labels are perhaps too extensive to ever compile in a single package. But EMI put their label on a prized recording, Pavarotti in Pietro Mascagni's lesser-known L'Amico Fritz (recorded in 1968 and sounding amazing) and two formidable Verdi masterpieces, Don Carlos and the Requiem.
