Released:
Label: Disturbing Tha Peace Recordings, Inc.
Ostensibly a pairing with underappreciated female MCs, Battle of the Sexes is also a retrenchment after two conceptual albums. With booty-bouncing numbers like "How Low" and "Everybody Drunk," Ludacris returns to the punch-line-driven club anthems that first made him a superstar. But it's far from his best work. Much of the album doesn't include women at all, just Luda Luda touting his sexual prowess over mediocre beats. The ladies who show up more than hold their own: Nicki Minaj drops a blackout verse on "My Chick Bad": "It's going down/ Basement/ Friday the 13th, I'm a play Jason."
