Mexican balladeer Luis Miguel became a major Latin Pop star in the United States by updating Julio Iglesias' continental crooning. He has sold millions of albums and won three Grammys, but the muy dramatico Miguel now faces stiff competition from peppy, dance-oriented Ricky Martin for the hearts of a very large, multi-lingual female fan base.
