Released: Mar 2007
Label: Ghostly International
Ghostly is one of those labels, rather like 4AD in the 1980s, where you're safe to listen to anything on their roster sight unseen. Aptly named, the Ghostly sound leans toward washy minimal beats with sparse and, yes, ethereal arrangements. Here Seattle's Jeff McIlwain, aka Lusine, invites re-rubs of his work from Apparat, Matthew Dear, John Tejada and others, the end result sounding more like a new Lusine release than a collection of remixes. It's all good, but Lusine's own remix of "Falling In" particularly stands out - no mean feat amongst such talent.
