The charm of this three-song offering by nu-soul guru Lyfe Jennings is the immediacy of the performances. On "Goodbye," it's just his gravely tenor and an accompanying piano, and when the bare-bones rendition ends in a piercing demonstration of his vocal acrobatics, it's even more wrenching than the studio rendition from The Phoenix. Additionally, the versions of "S.E.X." and "Let's Stay Together" have a spontaneous quality that fans will relish.
