Released:
Label: Roadrunner Records/Loud & Proud
Skynyrd's first studio album in six years (and 12th overall) features younger brother Johnny Van Zant admirably channeling long-lost Ronnie, with the swagger, bar-brawl readiness and, most importantly, hillbilly soul of the legendary singer. Proving itself to be far more than a one-note tribute band, original guitarist Gary Rossington and Co. effectively strike a cross between classic Skynyrd, new school Allman-style Southern rock and new country ("Unwrite That Song"). Best song "Floyd" features a seriously swampy groove and guest vocals from Rob Zombie.
