If you didn't think Magnolia Electric Co.'s Jason Molina was a prolific artist before, then just wait until you dig into this box set. Sure, Sojourner contains more than a few alternate takes, but like Bob Dylan or even the Grateful Dead, Molina and company are always tinkering, revising and rearranging. The end result is a gorgeous and often hard-hitting collection of ragged country-rock performances that are unique to this release. The version of "Trouble in Mind" is beyond touching.
