Biography

Schneider studied with Gil Evans, the master of impressionistic, free-floating, mood-filled jazz orchestration. She has learned well and brings a fresh approach to often slowly shifting, lugubrious jazz. Her first two albums are well worth exploring; they strike the dream-meets-nightmare mood of Cocteau's Belle et la Bete.
