Marisa Monte has the kind of velvety, honey-dripping voice that can convince you to do anything: Dance around with her in the rain (the shimmering, organ-speckled, strings-drenched "Descalço No Parque"). Drift down a river to the tune of a lovely, lilting bossa by way of NOLA (the dreamy "Verdade, uma Ilusão"). Even kinda fall for the only track that falls flat on this great mid-career album, the bland, blues-licked "Depois." Accordion jams, pop anthems and (finally!) a samba (the jaunty "Hoje Eu Não Saio Não") later, and you'll be this diversely palated diva's willing devotee.
