Mati Zundel's bio claims he was "raised on the rhythms of the Argentinian backwoods," and Amazonico Gravitante does, in many ways, sound like a country mouse-city mouse online mixer. Wheezing accordions and rippling harps dance to slightly muted folk melodies. Layered over that (or, sometimes, like on the first two full tracks, alternating with it) are louder urban sounds: booming electro-beats, fierce rapping, industrialized samples. The best tracks ("La Cumbia de la Loviya") are cacophonous cumbias that invoke the perpetual interchange between rural and urban, traditional and avant-garde.
