MDO, the boy band that evolved from Menudo, takes another stab at relevance with their latest release. They assembled all the necessary firepower, recording in Miami with noted producers Carlos Buacar and Pablo de la Loza and employing multiple songwriters to craft a new, slightly less romantic sound for the band. What they end up with -- bland, beautifully produced pop-rock -- sounds passable, and at times even good. But manufactured vision doesn't substitute for real artistic vision, even if it wins you a few hit singles.
