The lead single from Meat Loaf's forthcoming Bat Out of Hell III may boil down to ersatz metal with pop choruses and melodramatic vocals but it's supposed to be that way. Plus this song is way, way better than the pukey "I'd Do Anything for Love," from the second entry in Meat Loaf's original trio of albums. "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is a long look back, but Meat Loaf proves he can stay current with this new single. Sort of. The album is slated for release on Halloween, 2006.
