The Bridge is the kind of debut new artists dream of. It's not perfect. In fact, it's a bit uneven, hop-scotching a little too erratically through aesthetics (though all are coated in a pretty vintage sheen) and falling a little flat on the second half. But something about it compels you to listen: her honey-kissed voice, the pitch-perfect girl group vibe, all the choice vintage beats (see the Frankie Avalon sample on "You Stop My Heart"). Even the tracks that don't quite work manage to hook you in; they hold the promise of greatness to come.
