The Bride Screamed Murder
Melvins

The Melvins discography contains two extremes: stridently experimental and surprisingly accessible. Tilting towards the latter is The Bride Screamed Murder, a record that follows on the heels of a tour with Down and Weedeater, two bands that are significantly more orthodox than Melvins. Now, this doesn't mean the album is totally lacking in eccentricity. Rubbing shoulders with riff-heavy workouts like "Evil New War God" and "Electric Flower" are the oddball nuggets "The Water Glass" and a nearly eight-minute rendition of "My Generation" that moves as slowly as a stream of coagulating blood.
