Michael English

Michael English has been performing Christian music in a variety of styles since the early 1990s, attempting an outright break into the secular market only once. He has always straddled that line, however, and has appealed to fans of AAA throughout his career. His return to CCM in 1998 with Gospel was a rootsy effort showcasing his southern beginnings and employing earthy instruments such as dobro and harmonica. His exploration of his roots continues with tracks such as a cover of Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle," which strips things down to simple acoustic guitar and English's powerful tenor.
