Back in 2007 Mike Gordon was a songwriting machine; in a matter of months the Phish bassist had tallied over 50 compositions. Needless to say, Gordon still possessed a rich stockpile of tunes after releasing the 10-track Green Sparrow album the following year. This is where Moss comes into play. Though released two years later, it's very much a product of that same creative burst. As with its predecessor, the record is a mix of quirky folk-pop and hummable art-pop, all of which is anchored by Gordon's sidewinder bass lines. Guests include Marco Benevento, Page McConnell and Jon Fishman.
