Reflections in a Crystal Wind is the second album from Richard and Mimi. Though they were folk-rock pioneers, the duo didn't sound a thing like The Byrds, The Mamas and the Papas and other pop-oriented groups from the West Coast. The Farinas, sonic anthropologists with a love for stringed exotica, were rooted far more deeply in actual folk music, particularly British folk music. This explains why the pair's influence has been more intensely felt in the U.K. Spend some time with this wondrous record, and you'll discover shades of everybody from Fairport Convention to Belle & Sebastian.
