This indispensable document of one of the finest rock bands to emerge from 1960s San Francisco features the original lineup (that means Skip Spence is on the first half) working their utterly singular country-rock-psychedelic-soul-pop at the legendary Monterey Pop Festival of 1967, in Amsterdam in 1969 and at the also legendary Avalon Ballroom in SF. "Indifference," "Omaha," even a version of "I Am Not Willing" are here, and this trio of songs alone makes Moby Grape Live a truly essential piece of history. For any newcomers, you just need to know that this band almost literally smokes.
