Wanna know a secret? This was supposed to be Slowdive's last album. It was supposed to be their foray into country-inspired songwriting. But under an unscrupulous management contract, Slowdive owed a lot of money to some shady people. So they disbanded and the remaining three members, Neil Halstead, Rachael Goswell and Ian McCutcheon, formed Mojave 3. This, their first album under the M3 moniker, retained Slowdive's heavenly harmonies, but the songs are enveloped in a lazy twang akin to Mazzy Star.
